Central Serengeti
Central Serengeti National Park is a captivating region within the larger Serengeti ecosystem, renowned for its breathtaking landscapes and abundant wildlife. Often referred to as the heart of the Serengeti, this area boasts a prime location and diverse habitats, making it a hotspot for wildlife viewing throughout the year. The Seronera Valley is the central hub of Serengeti National Park. The migration typically moves through this area from mid-April to June and again later in the year from November to December. The network of rivers in this region ensures a year-round water supply, resulting in phenomenal concentrations of game and spectacular migration viewing in season. To the southwest of Seronera lies a magical area known as Moru, where the scenery is stunning with open plains, hills, and kopjes. It’s easy to get off the beaten track here and escape the busier Seronera area.

Best Time to Go on Safari
East Africa is equatorial, so the climate is fairly constant, making Salinero Serengeti a perfect year-round destination. The Green Season, from November to May, offers long, warm days with short downpours of rain, which transforms the landscape into lush green grasslands teeming with diverse wildlife. June to October is traditionally the migration season, when the days are warm, sunny, and dry.

Before You Travel
Before traveling to Tanzania, ensure your passport is valid for six months with a blank page. Obtain a visa online or on arrival, and check entry requirements if transiting through Kenya. Travel insurance is highly recommended. Be aware of health precautions, including vaccinations for COVID-19, malaria, and yellow fever, and consult a doctor for additional vaccinations
Passport
All visitors to Tanzania require a passport valid for six months from date of entry. For each entry into Tanzania, the passport must have at least one completely blank page (not including the final page or endorsement pages). You may be refused entry if these conditions are not met.
Health requirements
Covid19
All travellers entering or transiting mainland Tanzania or Zanzibar are advised to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Travellers entering or transiting mainland Tanzania or Zanzibar are not required to present a COVID-19 vaccination certificate or test certificate unless required by their airline, transit destination, or final destination. There are, however, reports of some travellers being asked to provide evidence of vaccination upon arrival, or a negative COVID-19 test if not vaccinated.
Visas
Many nationalities visiting Tanzania require a visa. We strongly encourage all guests entering Tanzania to obtain their visas online here before arriving in Tanzania. E-visas can take 2 to 3 weeks to be issued. Alternatively, visas for some nationalities may be obtained on arrival (USD 50) at main entry points in Tanzania. American passport holders require a multiple entry visa (USD 100). Please ensure that you check the entry requirements for the passport you will be travelling on in advance of your departure.
If transiting through Kenya: Kenya entry visas are exclusively issued electronically, with passengers required to obtain their e-visas before departure. e-Visa’s can be applied for here. Passengers must hold a printed copy of the e-Visa to be stamped on arrival.
Malaria
Salinero Serengeti lodges in Tanzania are situated in a malaria-risk area. It is therefore essential that you consult your doctor or a travel clinic regarding antimalaria requirements prior to your visit.
Yellow Fever
Tanzania requires a valid yellow fever certificate for all travelers journeying from yellow fever risk countries, including Kenya. Rwanda, previously listed as a yellow fever endemic country, is now considered low-risk and is no longer on the watch list. However, travellers are still advised to carry a yellow fever certificate if travelling through Rwanda.
Travel Insurance
In order to protect your investment, we strongly encourage our guests to take out sufficient travel insurance as Serengeti Salinero does not take on the liabilities and risks associated with travel and cannot be held liable for delays, cancellations, or trip interruptions. We recommend the services of Global Rescue. Please note that Global Rescue is an independent third-party service provider and Singita accepts no liability in terms of the services rendered.
